March – Updates on new participants into Netherland Corporate Games 2019

Unilever It is with great pleasure that I announce that Unilever Netherlands will be participating in the First Edition of the Netherlands Corporate Games. Unilever have been a great supporter of Corporate Games and it’s core values. They have attended over 44 editions around the world over the last 25 years. Unilever was first represented in Corporate Games in 1993 at the UK & Irelands Games.  Since 1993, they have attended Corporate Games every year in countries ranging  from  Istanbul to Australia and a lot of countries in between.


It is with great pleasure that today, I can confirm that Fluor Netherlands will be attending the first Edition of the Netherlands Corporate Games. Fluor is one of the world’s largest engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and maintenance (EPFCM) companies, providing innovative and integrated solutions to government and private sector Clients in diverse industries. For over a century, Clients have trusted Fluor to successfully, ethically and safely complete their capital projects. Fluor has been present in the Netherlands for over 55 years.

Fluor first attended the Corporate Games in 1994 at the World Games in South Africa where Mr Nelson Mandela honoured us by being the Corporate Games patron. Mr Mandela understood the principles and core values of the games and the power of sport to bring people together and unit his country.

Over 1000 Corporate delegates watched the Corporate Games Presentation video at the Amsterdam Business inspiration event on the 11th December 2018. We would like to congratulate Ms Ursula van Zantvliet Rozemeijer and her team for hosting this record breaking annual event.

Coventry awarded the Europe Corporate Games 2019


The City of Coventry is celebrating yet another spectacular achievement in its sporting calendar as it is proud to announce securing the Europe Corporate Games. Europe’s largest corporate multi-sports festival will be staged in the city as part of the European City of Sport 2019 programme, with many of the events taking place at the University of Warwick.

The city has received a number of high profile awards with the recent success of securing the UK City of Culture 2021, European City of Sport 2019 and as a Commonwealth Games venue in 2022 showing that Coventry is a leading destination for sport and culture in the UK.

Coventry is already a member of the  Worldwide Corporate Sport Community following its staging of a very successful UK Corporate Games in 2013.  It will showcase the new multi-million Sports and Wellness Hub at the University of Warwick.

The Games is expected to generate more than £5million for the local economy and highlights the best that Coventry has to offer. Some of the most powerful businesses in the country have already shown a keen appetite to be part of the event as the city prepares itself to welcome thousands of athletes and over one hundred companies to experience everything that is great about Coventry!

The Games will take place 1- 4 August 2019 and there will be 23 sports to choose from.  Companies are already entering athletes in their hundreds for next years competition.

Teams from all over the UK and Europe will travel to Coventry to sample everything that this historic city has to offer.  The new world class Sports and Wellness Hub will give athletes the chance to play a range of competitive sports from Badminton to Basketball, Netball to Softball.  The Games will also include some more adventurous sports such as Dragon Boat Racing, Open Water Swimming and Karting. Golf will be a featured sport as will three classes of Football, -11s, 6s and 5-a-side. There really is a sport for everyone.  Athletes compete for Medals and Corporate Awards, whilst also enjoying the buzz and atmosphere of the city and the beautiful Warwickshire countryside.

Businesses and institutions across Coventry and Warwickshire, will be challenged by multinational and ‘household-name’ organisations from the UK and Europe. However, the Games isn’t just for the huge and mighty of the world’s corporations, it welcomes even the smallest business, group or club to participate and become winners. A team can be made up of one person or more than a thousand!


About the Europe Corporate Games Coventry 2019

The Europe Corporate Games provides an outstanding opportunity to enhance company togetherness and is an expression in real terms of many themes of corporate and individual well-being through sport, competition, fun and fitness. It is also legendary for its off-field parties, parades, prizes and celebrations.

Competition is inclusive and accessible to all, with institutions, businesses, national and multinational companies, retailers, government agencies, partnerships and sports clubs all eligible to enter. Teams may include employees, colleagues, clients, family and friends. There are no qualifying standards.

The Europe Corporate Games is open to everyone.

The Sports and Wellness Hub at the University of Warwick, which will open in April, will include a spacious 230-station gym, with the latest equipment set in a green woodland environment.

It will feature a 12-court sports hall and a smaller four court sports hall, catering to a variety of team sports and activities. The outstanding six glass-backed squash courts and outdoor sports pitches are close by.

Corporate Games is trots met de nieuwe ambassadeur

Lisanne de Roever

Het team van de Corporate Games Nederland kan met trots aankondigen dat zij een nieuwe ambassadeur erbij hebben. Lisanne de Roever, een oud olympisch hockeykampioen zal de Corporate Games gaan vertegenwoordigen. Lisanne is op dit moment werkzaam als topsportcoördinator voor Topsport Haarlemmermeer. Zij heeft tot dusver in totaal 100 officiële interlands gekeept voor de Nederlandse vrouwenploeg.
Lisanne de Roever is verheugd dat de Corporate Games in Haarlemmermeer zullen plaatsvinden.

“Als oud-olympiër hoop ik dat de deelnemers een echt Olympische gevoel mee krijgen en samen met collega’s veel plezier beleven aan de Corporate Games” zegt de Roever. Samen sporten en bewegen is leuk en ook nog eens goed voor de gezondheid en het teamgevoel van de werknemers. Ik ben trots om hier als ambassadeur een bijdrage aan te leveren. Ik hoop dat heel veel bedrijven meedoen en ik wens iedereen dan ook veel succes en plezier!

De opening van de Corporate Games

Op 19 September 2018 vond de opening van de Corporate Games plaats bij de Pioniers in Hoofddorp tijdens de Super 6. De 75 genodigden konden genieten van de feestelijke lancering die werd gehost door sportpresentatrice Samantha van Wijk.

De middag is geopend door de voorzitter van het Honkbalstation de Pioniers, Martin Verhagen (directeur Corporate Games) en Adam Elkazai (Wethouder van de Gemeente Haarlemmermeer).
Adam Elkazai is zeer enthousiast over de Corporate Games: ‘’ik heb er een heel positief gevoel bij’’.

Vervolgens werd de middag afgesloten met het gecombineerde toernooi Baseball Softball ‘de Super 6’. De Super 6 heeft voor het eerst de toplanden uit Europa in het honkbal en softbal bij elkaar gebracht. De beste zes landen van het EK honkbal 2016 en het EK softbal 2017 waren voor dit toernooi uitgenodigd. Bij de honkballers zijn de nationale teams van België, Duitsland, Italië, het Nederlands Koninkrijk, Spanje en Tsjechië naar Hoofddorp gekomen voor de Super 6.
