With the UK Corporate Games Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire 2018 still almost 8 months away, organisers have already commented upon the popular appeal of the region as a destination.

Ben Sedgemore, Games Director said recently, “Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire again seems to be a really popular destination for travelling teams to the event. We had a terrific experience with the Games there in 2015 and there seems to be an even greater appetite for companies to get involved next year. Last week sizeable teams committed from a variety of different organisations across the country like Capital One from Nottingham, BCS Consulting and Accenture from London and Places for People who are based in Preston. Hundreds of representatives from all of these organisations will be descending on the region in 2018 and we are sure they will have a fabulous experience”.

Places for People first got the Games bug when it was awarded to Preston in 2012 and they have been entering ever since. Next year they have again agreed to send 100 entrants from their offices nationwide. Their Team Leader Anastasia Bligh who is a keen running enthusiast said “We are delighted to be supporting our staff to attend the Games in Stoke On Trent and Staffordshire next year. Every year our representatives thoroughly enjoy the opportunities that the Games offers to meet people from across our group. The Games really brings us all together which gives a powerful boost to our business. The Corporate Games team always deliver an exceptional experience for us and this will be the 7th consecutive year that we will have entered more than 100 competitors from across our group. The feedback is always exceptional and we know that the Games will be eagerly anticipated by us all. We would be happy to recommend the Games to any organisation as the benefits and opportunities it creates are excellent as well as supporting the health, fitness and well-being of our staff. ”

With its central location and impressive local facilities, it seems likely that next year could be one of the most well-attended and impressive Games to date. In addition to the travelling contingent, a host of local teams has already signed up to support the event too like Wade Ceramics and Knights1759.

Michelle Vorel-Adams works for the Games team but lives in Staffordshire and she is keen to stress that the Games is open to organisations of all size and kind. Michelle said, “we really think that it is important that businesses of any type and turnover realise that they can participate. Every year we have really small teams involved – in fact single owner enterprises with one employee are equally eligible to enter! Regardless of the size of the employer or the size of the team that you enter, everyone is treated equally and everyone gets to experience the vast array of benefits that the Games provides regardless of their age, level of physical fitness or sporting ability too. The Games is open to everyone! With 23 different sports and a host or fabulous celebrations and business components to there really is something for you whoever you are.”

If any local business representatives want to learn a little more about the benefits that they can secure by being part of the Games, they can call 0044 (0) 1733 380 888 or email UK@corporate-games.com.

The Games will be staged from the 21st-24th June and early entry discounts are available for organisations that wish to sign up now with 7.5% discount available until the end of November. You don’t need to know the names of entrants until May 2018 so only an estimate of numbers is required.
