Less than 100 days to go until the World Corporate Games in Mexico City!

The World Corporate Games 2015 in Mexico City is growing ever closer and now the event is less than 100 days away. The World Corporate Games last year was held in Liverpool, UK and this year it is the turn of Mexico to host the prestigious annual event. The Games will be huge, with thousands of participants taking part to get fit for business, but remember anyone can take part whether your business is tiny or tremendous! The Games will run from the 12th  to the 15th November starting with the infamous SuperCentre Celebration on the Thursday and finishing with the Closing Awards Celebration on the Sunday along with 19 sports scheduled across the busy weekend.

Mexico City has huge potential as a City to stage The World Corporate Games, as this exciting metropolitan powerhouse has superb facilities and quality spaces to offer. Juan Manual Rotter Alday the Games Director in Mexico who is responsible for the organising and staging of the Games is delighted that Mexico City has the opportunity to be the Host City in 2016, he said: “Mexico City has wonderful facilities, a massive infrastructure for business and it is an exciting destination for tourist visitors. We are looking forward to taking our involvement with the Corporate Games onto the World stage and to welcoming people from all over the Globe to participate”.

The World Corporate Games aims to be the perfect combination of sport, business and tourism – and this year is no exception – with athletes representing their businesses from all over the globe in Mexico City; the event is predicted to be highly successful and beneficial for all.

Alongside the vast sporting activities spanning across the weekend, the Games also has an array of other fun activities taking place. From the Great Games Party where there will be thousands partying the night away, to the Games Celebration and Parade where you have the opportunity to represent your organisation with t-shirts,  flags and banners – the weekend is sure to be great fun for people of all ages.

Okinawa Stages a Special Weekend in a Special Year

The first weekend of March was a special one for the Games as the inaugural Okinawa Corporate Games was staged on this idyllic Island.

Okinawa is an beautiful place, famed as a tourist destination for many years but now it has now taken it’s place as a centre for sport and business too.  With a rich cultural heritage, terrific venues and magical scenery this destination possesses some fantastic attributes to stage the Games and the quality of venues selected was exemplary.

In addition the hardworking Games Team on the Island ensured that there was something for everyone to enjoy regardless of their age or sporting prowess.

As well as the packed weekend of sport that Games participants have come to expect, Okinawa gave all of the entrants an excellent array of celebrations with the Grand Parade of Athletes, Great Games Party and Closing Awards particular highlights.  These components were brilliantly staged at the purpose built Celebration Zone that was constructed for the weekend in the grounds of the Official Games Headquarters Hotel, the Hilton Okinawa Chatan Resort.

Entrants came from across the world to join with local business participants to enjoy the ultimate mix of sport, business and tourism.  Companies were represented that had traveled from the UK, Malaysia, Hong-Kong, Singapore, America, Taiwan and many more so, there was a truly international feel to the proceedings which was been really pleasing for the host of local supporters of the Games.

Mr Bill Torch, Team Leader from Lloyds Banking Group brought a group of 19 from the UK to be involved and he was overwhelmed by the welcome they received from the Games Hosts.  Bill sent this message to the Team there; “The Games were a fantastic success and you all should be very, very proud of what you achieved. The Games Party on Saturday and the Awards Presentation on the Sunday were the best we have ever been to. Both were an excellent experience and something we will not forget. On behalf of the team I would like to say that the people of Okinawa are lovely and made us feel very relaxed and very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Both the hotels, the Vessel and the Hilton were brilliant, but the Hilton was out of this world. I cannot express how much we all enjoyed our time in Okinawa and we all hope to return in future”.

Mr Torch and his team were successful in winning the Division 3 Award and also the Badminton Sports Championship as well as a host of medals.

As always any first place medalist at any Corporate Games automatically gains complimentary entry into the World Corporate Games later in the year.  For those that don’t already know, the destination for that Games will be Mexico City from the 12-15th November,  so Mr Torch and some of his team could be in for a treat in November too…

Juan Manuel Rotter Alday has been responsible for staging almost half a dozen Games in Mexico in recent years but he is really looking forward to seeing the biggest annual multi-sport festival for businesses staged in Mexico City.  This is a bustling City of over 20 Million inhabitants with a rich sporting and business history.  Juan has confirmed that the appetite from Mexican companies to be involved has been stronger than ever but he is is also keen to  encourage International visitors from around the World to join with the locals in the Games this year.  He said, ” We have an array of excellent packages available that are outstanding value and we want to ensure that every visitor will enjoy one of the best experiences of their lives.  We are so proud to have the opportunity to stage the World Corporate Games and we are already working hard to ensure it is the best that it can be – we really hope that you can join us in November”

World Corporate Games Makes Flying Start

The World Corporate Games Headquarters is delighted to confirm that the World Corporate Games Liverpool 2014 , presented by the International Festival for Business, is already on track to be one of the biggest Corporate Games of the decade.

After great Games experiences for thousands of organisations around the globe, the Flagship Games for 2014 is set to be a huge success, creating unrivalled opportunities for everyone involved.

Across the UK, huge numbers of major organisations have already secured their places, with large teams already confirmed from the likes of Asda, CSC, Intel, Towers Watson, Vodafone, EY, Accenture, JLR, Unilever, AXA, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Lloyds Banking group to name just a dozen of the well known companies. Peel Holdings has joined CSC as Headline sponsors and this will be their first ever Corporate Games .  Peel will be staging the dragonboat racing and open water swimming at their impressive Princes Dock and this site looks set to be a real focal point of Games activity over the weekend.  The Peel Group are heavily involved in business and they are continuing to invest in major developments across the UK. Peel is looking to field a team in excess of 200 participants and the rumour is that they may be very competitive!

Places for People from Preston has also taken a package for the 3rd consecutive year.  This team was planning to feature just over 100 entrants entrants again this year but after overwhelming interest from throughout their group they have decided to enter over 250 participants which is great news for all concerned.  They will all be competing keenly for points, medals and awards in Liverpool in June.

A host of great sponsors are already confirmed from a multitude of different sectors, with Jaguar Land Rover named as the Official Vehicle Supplier, Walton’s Coaches the Official Travel Provider, and the impressive Richmond Hotel already selected as the Official Headquarters Hotel.  On the business front the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, Liverpool Vision and Downtown in Business are also widely supporting the Games.  SportsJam, providers of terrific sport and teamwear to suit any budget have been unveiled as the Official Kit provider’s for the 2nd Year running.
